Characteristics and Applications:
Alkyl Polyglycosides(APG) is a nonionic surfactant, which is made from renewable plant materials. It is a natural, mild and green surfactant. Compare with other petrochemicals, APG shows sustainable development, and is named as a new “global” green surfactant. It has low surface tension, strong decontamination power, good foam properties, good solubility, heat resistant, alkaline resistant, high concentration of electrolyte resistant, and thickening effect. It also has good compatibility with ionic surfactant and nonionic surfactant which can bring synergistic effect and improve the mildness of the recipe. Most importantly, it is non-toxic, non-irritating, biodegradable and good compatible with skin.
APG is mild, low stimulation to body and eye, and it has wetting and soft effect to skin, good care to hair, and good ecological. So it is widely used in personal care products and household detergents like shampoo, bath lotion, facial cleanser, hand cleanser and bath liquid, etc. It can also be used in makeup, transparent soap, laundry detergent, and dishwashing detergent. Because of its superior properties of solubility, penetrability and compatibility in strong acid, alkali and electrolyte solution, it is especially suitable for hard surface cleaning, refining agents in textile industry and vesicant in petroleum exploitation, etc.
